A basic orientation to services in the Jenner Law Library

Restricted Access, December 2017


The Law Library has a restricted access policy during the College of Law’s examination period.

The dates for restricted access are Monday, December 11, at 8:00 a.m.  Thursday, December 21, at 5:00 p.m.

During this period, access will be restricted to:

  • Currently enrolled College of Law students and scholars (with I-Card)
  • College of Law Faculty and Staff (with I-Card)
  • Other U of I students who have secured access, for research purposes, from the Director of the Law Library
  • College of Law alumni (with valid state bar card or U of I Alumni Association ID)
  • Members of the bar
    (with valid state bar card)
  • ABA-accredited law school members
    (with valid law school ID)

During this period, researchers may use other U of I libraries. Please consult the respective libraries for their current access policies. Researchers wishing to use the government documents collection must request access to the Law Library at least 24 hours prior to visiting. Access may be requested by calling 217-265-4524, Monday – Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Each approved visitor will be granted one hour of access.

Enforcement begins on December 11, 2017, at 8:00 a.m.

Welcome to the Albert E. Jenner Jr. Memorial Law Library at the University of Illinois, the nation's 14th largest law library.
